Ingredients:
1 Kilo – prawns
3 Tablespoon – Chick peas (pottu kadalai)
1 Tablespoon – Khus Khus
1 inch piece – Cinnamon
8 – Green Chillies
1/2 – Coconut
2 Full Pods – Garlic
1 inch piece – Ginger
4 – Onions
For gravy
15 ir Chilli Powder 3 Tablespoon – Red Chillies
1 Tablespoon – Somph
1/2 Inch piece – Cinnamon
2 Tablespoon – Dhania Powder
1/4 Grated – Coconut
2 – Cloves
1 – Bay Leaf
1 – Tomatoes
1 Tablespoon – Khus Khus
Method:
First clean and wash the prawns well. Mash them up and grind them separately.
Powder chick peas (pottukadalai) and khus khus together.
Grind green chillies, half the garlic and half the onions, ginger and half the grated coconut.
Mix the ground prawns with the above masala and powdered khus khus and chick peas.
Make into small balls.
Grind red chillies, somph, cinnamon, dhania, coconut and khus khus.
Heat oil in a vessel, put in clove, bay leaf, then onions, garlic and cut tomatoes and fry well.
Then add the ground masala. Cook till the masala is well cooked and the raw smell goes.
Add 11/2 glasses of water till gravy is fairly thick.
Then drop in the prawn balls slowly.
Simmer for a few minutes and serve hot.
