RAJMA (Red Kidney Beans)

Ingredients
Red Kidney Beans or black eyed beans – 1 Cup (soaked for 4-6 hrs)
Turmeric – 1/2 teaspoon
A pinch of Asafoetida Onion – 4
Coriander powder – 2 teaspoon
Oil – 1/2 cup
Chopped coriander -1/2 cup
Salt – to taste
Tomatoes – 4
Chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
Cumin – 1/2 teaspoon
Ground Ginger – 1/2 teaspoon
Ground Garlic – 1 teaspoon
Ghee – 1/4 cup
Garam masala powder – 1 teaspoon
Method:
Soak the beans for at least 5 hours.
Then keep for boiling in pressure cooker at least for 1/2 an hour.
Then heat oil in a frying pan and add cumin, asafetida, onions and ginger – garlic paste and fry till brown.
Add tomatoes and cook for sometime.
Mix turmeric, garam masala, coriander powder, chilli powder and salt.
Add the beans, mix thoroughly. Garnish with chopped coriander.
